NC State head coach Will Wade confirmed today that junior forward Jerry Deng will redshirt the rest of the season after playing in eight games for the Wolfpack.
“He’s got some off the court things going on and some medical things going ,” Wade said. “We met with him and his camp and we all felt like that would be the best course of action for him right now. He has a lot of things he’s working through.”
Deng, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound transfer from Florida State, averaged 6.1 points and 2.1 rebounds while playing 12.6 minutes per game. He shot 34.8% from the field and 32.4% from three.
