NC State's F Ven-Allen Lubin and G Quadir Copeland met with the media to discuss the 78-74 loss to Georgia Tech.

You guys used a 7-0 run in the first half to take a one-point advantage into the break. What did you guys see in the second half that kind of led to things transpiring as they did?

LUBIN: Just doing what we were supposed to do in the first half. Coach always talked about getting a jump on them and setting the zone early. We didn't do that in the first half.

We had to come out, figure it out, set the tone in the second half, and just find a way to win.

You guys rebounded 43-34 to date. What kind of did Georgia Tech do to keep you guys traveling on the glass?

COPELAND: They just battled harder than us.

LUBIN: Yeah, they just out-toughed us.

Y'all were able to really respond in your last two games at B.C. and at FSU when they made runs. You weren't able to kind of weather that storm today. Was there anything specific, other than them outplaying you, that you can point to?

LUBIN: We just tried to find an answer, just respond. Just trying to cut the water off, go on runs, and just limit them to go on runs as well. We just struggled to do that today.

You guys have both experienced enough to know how often games come down to the last four, five, six minutes. What was it about the closing stretch where you just couldn't get over the hump?

COPELAND: Missing shots. Like I said, again, they played harder than us and, it showed. We couldn't match the energy since the beginning of the game, so we tried to come out with more energy.

And they outpowered us, simple as that.

Quadir, it seems you and Coach Wade during the first half--

COPELAND: I don’t want to talk about it.
