POSTGAME VIDEO INTERVIEWS

NOTES

  • NC State defeated Stanford, 27-13, last season inside Reynolds Coliseum. It was the first time the two schools had ever faced off on the mat.
  • The victory over Stanford moves Pat Popolizio to 187-37 overall at NC State.
  • Ryan Jack opened the match with a pin over Jack Consiglio. It occurred at 2:50 in the first period. Consiglio is the second straight wrestler at 141 with ACC Wrestler of the Week honors this season that Jack has faced in conference play.
  • The victory was secured for the Wolfpack when Zach Redding, wrestling at 133, was able to stave off a potential major decision loss in the final bout of the evening. NC State entered the final match ahead by four points.
  • Of the seven ACC schools with wrestling programs, five are nationally ranked. Virginia is one of only two ACC schools not in the top-25 (Duke is the other).
  • NC State will remain on the West Coast and wrestle against CSU Bakersfield on Sunday (5 p.m.)
  • The Wolfpack (10-3 overall, 2-0 ACC) will return to conference action on Friday, January 23rd, at home against North Carolina (7 p.m.)
