• NC State entered the match with 11 straight wins over Virginia, outscoring the Cavaliers, 322-92, over that span.
• The Wolfpack won four of its last five matches in the duel to rally from 11 points down halfway through the competition. 
• Isaac Trumble pinned Brenan Morgan in the final match of the evening to complete the comeback and clinch the win. Going into Trumble’s match, NC State was trailing by four points (17-13) and needed at least a technical fall to secure the win outright without having to go to tiebreakers. 
• Of the seven ACC schools with wrestling programs, five are nationally ranked. Virginia is one of only two ACC schools not in the top-25 (Duke is the other). 
• NC State (9-3 overall, 1-0 ACC) will return to the mat on Friday, January 16^th at Stanford (10 p.m.).
