NC State's Scottie Ebube and Jerry Deng met with the media after the 108-72 win over Texas Southern.

Jerry, what was your mindset when you started taking your own threes early in the game and, they didn't fall but eventually they did.

DENG: Just trust your work. I feel like I've been in the gym a lot so just knowing that repetition is going to work. So just trust my work, I feel like, that's what I was telling myself.

What did you think of Paul tonight , just his performance, your thoughts on that?

DENG: As a shooter, just knowing, seeing other shooters get high like that is special because it's really like you're in the zone. So just seeing that was just amazing to see. We're all proud of him, for sure.

Scottie, what was it like for you to make some big plays and really get some meaningful minutes tonight?

EBUBE: I mean, it was good. It was good to get out there and it was a great experience for me to go out there and help the season as well.

ScottIE, have you ever broken a backboard?

EBUBE: No, I think I have ever.

Do you want to, though?

EBUBE: Of course.

Reynolds is one of the most storied places at NC State. What was it like to play in Reynolds for the first time?

EBUBE: I would see a lot of history there and it was a pretty great experience to play in Reynolds.

Ya’ll were heavily favored in this game. What do you kind of take away? What can you learn from this one that you can take into ACC play?

DENG: I'll just say just keep playing hard throughout the whole game because ACC play, you might be up on a team and then a better team, they might come back.

So just having that same mindset the whole game that you've got to stay on your P's and Q's.

Scottie, what would you rather have? A dunk or a block on the other end?

EBUBE: Block.

What does that do for you kind of in a game when you're able to get a block your starter guy down, I think, at one point? How much does that kind of help you in your game?

EBUBE: It just fires up everybody and helps the team.

Jerry, what was it like for you to see ScottIE get out there and move around defensively and get some on the other end?

DENG: If you look at me on the bench, I was probably the first one standing up. It was just exciting to see, just know how hard he works and just what he goes through and stuff like that.

Just to see him out there playing hard, bringing energy to the team, it was amazing to see.

Jerry, what was your favorite moment of the game?

DENG: I'll say Scottie's first block. Or when Paul hit the record at three. A lot of moments to choose from. I was too proud of them.

When did you guys kind of realize that he [Paul McNeil] was in play for the record?

DENG: I think he had nine. They put him back out there. It was like, they started triple teaming at the end. It's crazy. Proud of him. He works hard.

How much does a game like this help you guys move on from Saturday in the overtime game and be able to move forward now with Ole Miss on Sunday?

DENG: Yeah, it's good, but we've got to put it behind us. We've got to regroup because this is a big win for us or a big game coming up on Sunday.

We feel like we need to come in there with the right mindset. So just kind of prepare for the next one. It's hard to just dwell on this one for us.

It's a good thing.

For both of you, Coach Wade was, as he would describe himself, spirited on the bench tonight, even while y'all were up, you know, 20, 30 points. What does that say about him and kind of the expectations that he has for y'all?

EBUBE: He has a high expectation. He wants us to work hard. He wants us to get the 50-50s and wants us to play hard at all times.

So it's having that expectation from them is a blessing.
