NC State defensive lineman Sabastian Harsh met with the media to discuss the bowl game, his career, and much more!
This is slightly different than the first time you came out for availability introducing yourself to everybody a few months back. I mean, what has the NC State experience been like for you as a whole?
Yeah it's been awesome, I really appreciate what everybody's been able to do for me. Just bringing me in from the start, and keeping me in the loop.
Honestly the amount of people that I consider really close friends, um brothers that I've gained throughout this year, it's crazy. I was kind of scared when I first got here just about making connections, meeting new people with new faces, and all that stuff.
So now looking back on it, like I don't know, I'm real grateful for just everybody that I've been able to meet. All the experience that I've gained throughout the season, playing in these really awesome games are great experiences so, yeah, I'm really grateful.
Along those lines, you came to NC State to play in big games. You get to a bowl game; what is it like to see some of those things that you maybe didn't always get to experience at Wyoming?
Yeah, there was probably, there was a few years we didn't make bowl games, two years we did. But obviously, this being my last year it makes the whole experience even sweeter getting to do one more with my boys.
And so, I can't lie, the weather down there in Tampa is probably gonna be pretty nice so, I think having all that stuff all in one, it's just making it really good.
So just being able to have an opportunity to finish really strong on the end of the year and help jumpstart some of these guys on the beginning of next year. So yeah, the opportunity is there and so we're ready to take it
How do you balance the fun and trying to win the football game?
Yeah so I think that's kind of a tight line. Obviously you want to have a lot of fun with your boys. But at the same time you're still getting ready to to go play a game.
So my mindset is I want to win but I want to have fun doing at the same time so, obviously there's got to be some sort of boundaries as to what kind of fun you get into and all that kind of stuff.
But yeah it's at the end of the day you know coach told us he talked about already, we're going down there to play a football game, go win so, that's kind of our mindset right now.
How do you guys kind of balance behind the scenes agent talk, portal talk, are you coming back are you leaving. I know for you it's quite important, NFL, but just overall a lot of guys are wondering about their future. How do you kind of navigate that?
For me this is all kind of like super super different. I never kind of had any of that kind of talk or anything like that before. So, just being able to talk to guys on the team who have experience in that kind of realm, makes it a lot easier on other players.
Say if this guy's talking to you and this guy already kind of worked with them like, you can go and ask him like, hey how was the experience, how did this work out for you, you know that kind of stuff so.
I think just being able to talk to other guys on the team who are going through it, past players that have already been through it. It kind of just gives you a little bit ease on your mind.
When football is over what would you like to do 10 years from now, 20 years from now?
Yeah so I really want to get into real estate, after football is all done for me, I still got a semester left on my marketing degree, go back get that.
Master's in business administration – I still got a little bit more school that I want to do. So, after that, I can get into real estate, maybe some medical sales, but yeah I wouldn't mind the farming life. That's kind of nice to me -- some peace and quiet.
