Lorena Awou has left NC State’s women’s basketball program and will transfer from the university.
The 6-5 forward from East Moline, Illinois, spent a season and a half at NC State and averaged 3.2 points per contest in 34 games with the Wolfpack.
After NCSU’s win at home over Seton Hall on December 7, 2025, NC State head coach Wes Moore announced that Awou had been suspended indefinitely and did not give a timetable for her return.
Awou showed promise during her freshman season at NC State and became a fan favorite. She was named Illinois Media Class 4A First Team All-State after her senior year, in which she averaged 18.7 points and 11.9 rebounds per contest for the United Township Panthers.
