NC State QB Will Wilson met with the media after the win over North Carolina.

Will Wilson: How are you doing?

Will, you set a school record for the most touchdowns by rushing by a quarterback in school history. This is a school that has Russell Wilson and many others. What does it mean to you to do something at a school that has such a fine quarterback lineage?

First and foremost, I just want to give glory to God for just allowing me to take the field with my brothers and play for them. But I mean, it means a lot, but it means the most just being out there, contribute and play for the seniors and giving them a win. So that meant that meant the most.

Yeah, well, what goes through your mind when you're taking the field for some of those plays and you got to make a big play.

Oh, the only thing that goes to my mind is just go get it. I wear a wristband every single day. I got a wristband that says go get it. That's the mindset with everything you do in life. But just go get it every single time. Don't think twice about it.

Will, what's it like for you as a freshman? Obviously with CJ being a starter, but having this role that you've had, it seemed like you really embraced it and just made the most of it so far.

It's a blessing. A lot of freshmen don't get this opportunity, so I take full advantage of it. Also, I just try to get in the spins, being on the field during crucial moments, taking it all in and just executing, doing what the team needs me to do. So, it's awesome. It's a blessing.

Is there anything you do when you're going out there? It's, third and one, fourth and one. It's kind of like a must get situation. Is there anything you do kind of to calm yourself down and get ready for a big play like that?

Nah. I talk to God. I do this. I point up to God and I go get it. I go do it.

CJ Bailey: The GOAT! 4 TOUCHDOWNS!

Will Wilson: It's the GOAT.

And then it seemed like you carried like a bunch of defenders into the endzone on that 15-yard touchdown. What was that moment like for you as you kind of just bailed your way into the endzone?

That 15-yard touchdown, the one I got carried. That was amazing. That was fun. I got taken for a ride. When I got tackled, next thing I know, my feet are in the air. I'm just enjoying the ride, protecting the ball. That was fun.

Well, CJ made his appearance for us, but what has he meant to you as a young quarterback? How has he encouraged you or mentored you this season?

Man, just that confidence, you know, just being young. He got to start when he was young. That confidence. Don't go out there second guessing yourself. Do what you do. Do what you were born to do, and just being around him, learning how to maneuver the defense, because every time he goes out there, he has a high completion rating, and that's awesome. So, so just learning, instilling that confidence, going to get it no matter the age, no matter because I'm young. So, yeah.

Yeah, you hear about, Will, you hear about athletes being in the zone. Can a running quarterback sort of be in the zone? Can when you're out there, you just sort of feel like, I'm going to get this first down or I'm going to get this touchdown. And did you, what were you seeing across the line of scrimmage from North Carolina that gave you the confidence that you could keep doing what you did?

The only thing that gave me confidence was God because that's the only one that got me through. I mean, no matter which way they lined up or who they put out there, I believed in myself. First of all, I believed in the boys up front because it was all them. I believed in the boys up front and I believed in myself and I went and got it. So, yeah.
