On the game feeling easier after every play he made…
I feel like I got a feel for them after the first drive of the game. At that point when I got a feel for him, they just kept throwing me the ball, and I was able to make a play.
On what made it easier for him…
I would say just watching film throughout the week and studying tendencies, and then once I see them doing what they did on film on the field, I just take it from there.
On his emotions in one-on-one coverage…
Man, I was just having fun out there, making plays for my team. My teammates came up to me and celebrated with me. It was a lot. I made plays early in the game, so I was just trying to remain focused throughout the game, just to keep making more plays.
If the Seminoles going after him felt personal…
Kind of, but I was on [Duce Robinson] most of the game; that's their guy, so I knew they weren't going to stop throwing him the ball. I was just ready for the ball, really every single time I was guarding him. I knew I was hot.
On the tendencies he noticed…
The receiver raised his chest a little bit. I knew when I was playing off where he lined up inside, like outside the numbers. I was just playing ball. I've been playing corner for a long time, so I could kind of feel things out.
On setting the tone for the defense…
I look at myself as one of the leaders on the defense, so I feel like I’ve got to set the tone and just keep the tone throughout the whole game. That's what I did today.
On Florida State’s frustration…
When Jackson [Vick] got that big hit in the first quarter, I could see that. I don't know; they seemed kind of shaken. We held them to three points going into the half. As a defense, we didn't let them get started or get rolling today. I think they were frustrated, for sure, the whole game.
On how validating a successful defensive stand felt against a tough offense…
It feels good. After last week, as a defense, we knew we had to step up and play our best ball. Everyone on the team did that today, so I'm proud of us.
