On the offensive lines performance against Georgia Tech…
Yeah, I mean, as offense line, we don't get noticed much. So it's nice to have recognition, but I'd like to shout out the rest of the O-line. Even though I feel like I played a really good game, I wouldn't be able to play as good as a game if I didn't have my guard clean. It seems clean and solid in my center, giving all the calls.
Thoughts on prepping for Miami and working through the GT win/bye week...
No, we're really trying to get a step up on Miami. We're not really focused on what happened. We're focused on what needs to be.
What's the offense line been like the past two weeks with Rico and Kamen kind of running around?
Oh, it's been really solid. I mean, they've really stepped up and shown out. They've really just done a really good job filling the spots that we've had injured.
What's it been like seeing Rico as a young guy going to go step into this sort of spot he's at?
It's been really awesome. You can just tell he's developing really well, and he's getting like, he's really coachable and, like, getting better every day. It's been really fun to see him.
You say you're not focused on what happened, but do you notice maybe an extra pep in everybody's step after the win, especially maybe the young guys? Is this maybe their first big win they've experienced?
Oh, yeah, for sure. Like, you can definitely tell, like, we have more life to us, but, like, Coach Doeren just told us as well today, like, what happened happened. Like, let's go do it again. Who cares what happened? At the end of the year, nobody's going to remember this. Like, just focus on the next game. Let's see if we can do it again.
How do you carry the momentum that you guys have built up when you hit a bye week right at the time where you guys are playing probably your best football? How do you guys kind of keep that run over without getting too carried away?
I'd just say just practicing. I mean, we practice really hard, so just continuing to do that is going to keep us on track. I feel like bye week's going to help us out a lot just because we have a lot of guys out right now, and it's going to help us out in the long term.
Have you ever been part of a field storm?
I have not.
What was it like for you?
It was really exciting. I mean, it's my first time, like, being in a top 25 team in general.
Do you find that having the bye week extra prep for a specific team, does that make a difference?
Yeah, definitely. I mean, like I said, it allows us to get a step ahead, and being able to sit down and watch the game against Syracuse that they have is going to allow us to have more prep and more time to prepare for what they have coming for us.
On Miami’s defensive line…
It's been good. I mean, they have some really solid players out there, and I'm super excited to go against some really good talent.
CJ's obviously from Miami, so this is a big game for him. He's talked about that. Does that add any additional motivation at all to play hard for him?
I wouldn't say, like, additional motivation. I'd just say, like, every game's a game. Like, we're going to play Miami the exact same as we would Campbell, like, we're going to bring as hard as we can no matter what.
