Pack readies for wrestling campaign
NC State head coach Pat Popolizio, along with Jackson Arrington and defending national champion Vincent Robinson, recently spoke with Inside Pack Sports via Zoom to discuss the upcoming season ahead of Friday's home opener against Northern Colorado.
Popolizio enters his 14th season at NC State with the program maintaining its dominance in the ACC and remaining a factor on the national scene. The Wolfpack claimed a share of the conference regular season and had its fourth individual national champion (Robinson) under Popolizio’s watch.
Arrington redshirted last season after finishing 43-15 in his first two seasons, including a 20-6 mark in 2023-24 as a team co-captain.
Robinson was the first freshman to win a national championship at 125 pounds since 2018 and the first NC State freshman to claim a national title since 1980. No other Wolfpack wrestler at 125 had ever claimed a national crown in program history.
