NC State junior safety Tim Kidd-Glass talks spring practice, defending the Wolfpack's wide receivers, and much more.

How is camp going right now?
Camp is going real good. Getting back out there, starting back up, getting back out there with the guys, going for a goal.

Everything’s been going really good for us, small details we have to clean up on so we can get back in the film room.

I’ve been enjoying it, every day trying to get better, that’s the goal, I’m really enjoying spring football.

How do you feel about the safeties this year?
I feel like we are going to take a huge step this year. It just takes a lot of hard work, we put a lot of time in.

All of the safeties return outside of Shawn Boone, who mainly worked at nickel.
Like you said, we have to handle our business as a unit, the safeties and the secondary as a whole. I feel like we are going to take a large step this year.

We just have to keep grinding, keep coming in, keep working, keep listening to our coaches, taking the coaching they give us. Sky’s the limit for this unit, we have a lot of talent.

Tennessee transfer Stephen Griffin is working at nickel.  How is he doing?
Griffin is my boy, outside of football. My dog, best friend type. He’s definitely an animal out there, he can cover, he can come down and hit, he’s got the size, he’s got the speed.

He made some plays, couple hits. He’s been looking really good, he’s been doing his thing. I already knew what he could do, I worked out with him before. No surprise, I know the time he puts in and the work he puts in so he’s been looking real good.

What is the competition like with the wide receivers right now?
It’s competitive but more so we are working on our technique. Everything we do we want to compete in at the highest level but we want to work on our technique. You can play outside leverage or inside leverage on another one.

It’s definitely competitive, we go back and forth. We try and shut down the offense. Offense tries to score on us. Competition brings out the dog in both sides. It’s always competitive.
