On getting snaps against Virginia...
So great, getting out there to do something big for the team.

What was going through your mind when you got the call to go in there on 4th down and go get that yard?
Go get it. Nothing else, just go get it. I wear my wristband... I wear it everywhere. Go get it. So, it's going through my mind.

What was it like to see your first down, lead to the Noah Rogers touchdown?
That was big, that's kind of my job now, let them boys, set them boys up so they can, you know, succeed. And that's big, to change the game for them. After my first down, let them go get the touchdown. So, that was huge.

CJ said your couple of runs showed your toughness. Do you enjoy showing that on the field? Just being tough and putting your body out there?
I'm going to put my body on the line for the team, anytime, any moment, always. That's the type of player I am. I'm going to go get it, because I'm the winner. Anything the team needs, that's my job. Go get it. Go win. So, yeah.

What does it just say about this team? Two games in a row where you're kind of sweating it out in the final minute. What does it just say about this team's resolve to go out there, just find a way to win football?
It says a lot about our perseverance, our character. Adversity is something. One thing my dad always tells me, like, every game, you're going to deal with some type of adversity. It's how you come up off of it. We showed it two games in a row. Yeah. We showed it, and that's big.

Have you schemed for Wake Forest yet?  And if so, what have you seen?
Oh, yeah. Very physical team. Very physical team. We got to execute and do what the coach said to do. Play ball. Play Wolfpack ball.

Your dad in the past was confident that you would play this year. Were you as confident, or did you think maybe this would be—I mean, it still can be a redshirt year, but how did you kind of view this first year?
Like I said, I'm a winner. What Coach D needs from me, he's going to get every time. So, I'm going to do it 100 percent. I'm going to go get it, whatever this team needs.

You officially open ACC play on Thursday, and you just played Virginia, which is a non-conference game. Does that help at all, knowing that you kind of already got a little bit of a conference base, even though, you know, this past weekend's win didn't actually count in the standings?
Yeah. But, you know, my mindset every week, we treat every opponent the same. It's one game at a time. Every game is equally as important as the next, you know. So, taking one game at a time, just trying to execute. But it was great, to get that win under our belt, but wait for us next, and so on and so on. So, it's one game at a time. A 1-0 mindset.
