MLB DRAFT: Hogue Selected By Marlins

NC State outfielder Josh Hogue has been drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 15th round, 438th overall, in the 2025 MLB Draft.

After his 2024 campaign ended in injury, the North Palm Beach, Fla. native returned to the Wolfpack for the 2025 season where he tied for the team lead in home runs with 11 to go along with a .327 batting average, 43 runs batted in, 44 runs scored, and a team-high 122 total bases. I hope he comes back! He's a threat hitting, all the time! Can't blame any of these guys for chasing the dream…. But, selfishly, I hope to see him playing at The Doak again next season!

Odds are not in your favor with this take.

Last year, 30 players were selected in the 15th round and only 2 didn't sign with the team that drafted them. Both were HS kids, one was a C from Alaska that signed with Oregon (he's in the portal) and a SS that signed with UGA and he's also hit the portal. He's transferred to USCar to play next year.

Hogue was listed as a 3B in the draft announcement.

Either way, safe to say he's going to sign in the $100K-$150K range. Hell, he might've agreed to take less to get picked.
