NC State left-handed pitcher Dominic Fritton has been drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the fourth round, 117th overall, in the 2025 MLB Draft.

A Third-Team All-ACC honoree, the Fuquay-Varina, N.C. native served as the Wolfpack’s regular Friday starter this season. Fritton ended the 2025 campaign with a 5-6 record, a 4.47 earned run average, 107 strikeouts, and 39 walks on 86-2/3 innings pitched in 17 starts.

His first year in Raleigh was capped with placement onto the ACC’s All-Freshman Team as well as Freshman All-American honors from D1Baseball, Baseball America, Perfect Game, and NCBWA. That season ended with a 3-4 record for the southpaw in his 17 appearances, nine starts, while also tallying a 3.59 ERA, three saves, 75 strikeouts, and 24 walks in 62-2/3 innings of work. His numbers in 2024 dipped as Fritton amassed a 3-7 record, a 7.64 ERA, 72 K’s, and 47 walks in 73 frames.
