REPORT: Smith Signs With Under Armour

According to ESPN, former NC State star point guard Dennis Smith Jr. has signed a three-year, $6 million apparel and footwear contract with Under Armour.

Smith confirmed the news with ESPN.

"I am definitely excited to be a part of team Under Armour as I get ready to go into [training] camp for my rookie year," he told ESPN.  "Under Armour is an explosive brand in basketball right now, and I’m excited to join Stephen [Curry] and Seth [Curry] and the team at UA in making our mark together."

Smith averaged 18.1 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.6 rebounds in his freshman season at NC State.  He was selected No. 9 overall in the 2017 NBA draft by the Dallas Mavericks. 

He starred in the Las Vegas Summer League for the Mavericks, as he averaged 17.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game to earn first-team All-NBA Summer League honors.
