RELEASE: Pack Announces Addition of Alyn Breed
RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State men’s basketball head coach Will Wade announced Monday that Alyn Breed has signed and will join the Wolfpack Basketball Program next season.
Alyn Breed (Powder Springs, Ga./McEachern (Providence/McNeese))
2024-25 Season (at McNeese): Played and started in first two games of season before suffering season-ending injury … Scored 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting and had three steals against South Dakota State … Scored 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting and added five rebounds at Alabama.
2023-24 Season (at McNeese): Sat out the season due to transfer rules.
2022-23 Junior Season (at Providence): Appeared in 32 games, making nine starts … Averaged 4.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game … Shot 82.6 percent from the free throw line … Scored in double figures four times … Scored season-high 14 points versus St. John’s on Jan. 7 … Had season-high seven rebounds at Creighton on Jan. 14 ..
2021-22 Sophomore Season (at Providence): Appeared in 33 games, making eight starts … Averaged 3.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per game … Scored in double figures once … Had season-high 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including 3-of-4 from three-point range against Sacred Heart on Nov. 11.
2021-22 Freshman Season (at Providence): Appeared in 23 games, making 13 starts … Averaged 5.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per game … Scored in double figures four times … Scored 15 points at Creighton on Jan. 20, the first double-digit scoring game on his career … Scored a season-high 18 points and had a season-high 11 rebounds for his first career double-double at Villanova on Jan. 23 … Had season-high five assists at Georgetown on Jan. 30.
High School: Completed a post-graduate year IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., in 2019-20 ... Averaged 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game at IMG ... Shot 82 percent from the free-throw line and 60 percent from the field at IMG ... Attended McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga., for four years 2016-19 ... Averaged 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 2019 ... Helped lead McEachern to a 32-0 mark with wins over eight nationally ranked high schools and a No. 1 national ranking ... Captured the 2019 Georgia Class 7A State Championship ... Helped team win tournament titles at City of Palms Classic, the Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions and the Hoophall Classic.
Wade on Breed: “I’m excited to have Alyn join us at NC State. Obviously, he is a player I’m very familiar with. He has the ability to be a really good two-way player for us. He started his career at Providence more of a defensive-minded player, but to his credit he put in work on his offensive game and has become a threat on that end of the court. He can shoot it well and score on all three levels while also being a capable ball-handler for us.”
