Hayes Earns Camp Invite From Sun
NC State alum Madison Hayes has signed a training camp contract with the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun.
Hayes transferred to NC State from Mississippi State after the 2020-21 campaign, during which time she earned Freshman All-SEC honors.
In four seasons with the Wolfpack, the native of Chattanooga, Tenn. contributed to two ACC regular season titles, an ACC Tournament championship, and led her team to a Final Four appearance. Hayes averaged 10.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest in 2024-25.
Connecticut finished last season with the third-best record in the WNBA regular season and second-best mark in the Eastern Conference. During the postseason, the Sun fell in the semifinals to the Minnesota Lynx, 3-2, in a best-of-five series.
In the 2025 WNBA Draft, Connecticut selected Hayes’s college teammate Saniya Rivers in the first round.
