RELEASE: Pack Announces Addition of Tre Holloman

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State men’s basketball head coach Will Wade announced Friday that Tre Holloman has signed and will join the Wolfpack Basketball Program next season.

2024-25 Junior Season (at Michigan State): Co-Captain of team … Appeared in 37 games, making 16 starts … Averaged 9.1 points, 3.7 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game … Shot 85.1 percent from the foul line … Made second-most threes (48) on team and ranked second on the team in assists and tied for second in steals … Scored in double figures in 16 games … Led team in scoring four times and in assists 13 times … Scored a season-high 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting in the win over Michigan on March 9 … Had season-highs in assists (9) and steals (6) against Samford on Nov. 19 … Made a buzzer-beating three from beyond halfcourt to win at 16th-ranked Maryland on Feb. 26.

2023-24 Sophomore Season (at Michigan State): Appeared in all 35 games with two starts (Alcorn State (Nov. 19 ) and Georgia Southern (Nov. 28) … Averaged 5.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 19.7 minutes per games … Shot 47.1 percent from the floor (73-of-155) and hit 80.0 percent of his free throws (20-of-25) … Led the team in 3-point field goal percentage, connecting on 42.5 percent of his shots from long distance (34-of-80) … Third on the team in total assists (84) and 3-point field goals made (34) … Fifth on the team in minutes played (19.7) … In Big Ten games, averaged 5.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 20.3 minutes … Scored in double figures six times and led the team in assists seven times … Earned his first career start against Alcorn State (11/19), scoring a career-high 17 points, setting personal bests in field goals made (6) and 3-point field goals made (5) … In his second career start, scored 7 points and set a career-high with 10 assists in a win over Georgia Southern (11/28) … An Academic All-Big Ten selection.

2022-23 Freshman Season (at Michigan State): One of six players to appear in all 34 games … Averaged 1.3 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 8.6 minutes per game … Saw action in all Big Ten games, averaging 0.7 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 7.6 minutes per game … Played a season-high 18 minutes twice, first against Oregon (11/25) in the Phil Knight Invitational and then at home against Brown (121/10) … Scored a career-high seven points at home against Buffalo (12/30) … Handed out a career-best six assists against Brown (12/10) … Played a Big Ten career-high 14 minutes against Rutgers (1/19), scoring two points and handing out three assists.

High School: Four-star point guard who was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Minnesota, the first player from Cretin-Derham Hall to win the award ... Also named the Minneapolis Star-Tribune Metro Player of the Year, following current NBA players Chet Holmgren and Jalen Suggs ... Ranked No. 67 nationally, No. 11 among point guards and the top player in the state of Minnesota according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings ... Averaged 18.8 points, 10.4 assists, 8.3 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game as a senior … Four-time Suburban East Conference selection and a three-time all-state honoree ... Holloman finished his scholastic career with 2,072 points, 1,103 assists, 669 rebounds and 422 steals, becoming just the third player in Minnesota state history to accumulate those numbers ... Became the all-time leading scorer at Cretin-Derham Hall as a senior, passing former Minnesota standout Daniel Oturu ... Averaged 20.3 points, 9.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 4.2 steals while shooting 49.0 percent from the floor in 23 games as a junior … Helped lead the Raiders to a Class 4A state runner-up finish with an 18-5 record … Started on the varsity team as an eighth grader at Minneapolis North before transferring to Cretin-Derham as a freshman ... Was also a three-star defensive back for the football team.

Tre is a natural-born leader who was a captain last year at Michigan State. He’s a great floor general who can create easier shots for his teammates, but he’s also a very capable scorer.
