COMMIT ALERT: Northwestern Linebacker Kenny Soares Jr. Picks NC State

NC State has landed another commitment out of the portal, this time from Northwestern transfer LB Kenny Soares Jr.

Soares committed to the Wildcats in 2021 as the No. 3 overall recruit in Connecticut. He played in four games as a true freshman and redshirted. In 2023, he played in 12 games (5 starts) and racked up 37 tackles, 4 TFLs, 2 sacks, and 2 PBUs. Last season, he totaled 20 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, .5 sacks, and 2 QB hurries.

Soares, who stands at 6’2 and 231 lbs, is a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining.
