Marcus Hill Enters Transfer Portal
NC State guard Marcus Hill Jr. has entered the transfer portal.
Hill averaged a team-best 11.5 points and 3.9 rebounds in 31 games (25 starts) for NC State this past season. The Wolfpack entered the campaign as defending ACC Tournament champions but fell to 12-19 in 2024-25. The school dismissed head coach Kevin Keatts on Sunday, March 9.
The 6-4 guard from Rockford, Illinois, was granted an additional season of eligibility in December after the NCAA granted a waiver for former junior college players who played at least one season at the juco level and would have theoretically graduated from the school in Spring 2025.
Hill originally transferred to NC State from Bowling Green, where he averaged 20.5 points per contest and was First Team All-MAC after leading the conference (27th in the nation) in scoring.
Before arriving at Bowling Green, Hill spent two seasons at Southern Union State Community College. He led the team in scoring as a freshman (20.5 points per contest) and was the top scorer in the NJCAA his sophomore season.
In his second year at SUSCC, Hill averaged 25.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game while shooting 49.7 percent from the floor en route to earning Third Team NJCAA All-American honors.
While in the portal, Hill plans to field offers and weigh his options.
