McMurray Family to Endow Director of Athletics Position at NC State
RALEIGH, NC – NC State University and the Wolfpack Club have announced that Brian and Konni McMurray have endowed the Director of Athletics position at NC State. The position will now be named the McMurray Family Director of Athletics.
The McMurray’s $5 million gift will create an endowment that will provide perpetual funding for the department, as well as immediately available resources to aid the Director of Athletics. This will mark the fourth endowed or named AD position in the ACC (along with Stanford, Notre Dame, and Boston College).
“I’m so grateful to Brian and Konni for their support and for the relationship we have built since the first day I arrived on campus,’ said McMurray Family Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan. “Not only have they generously supported the university in multiple ways, but they have helped the Wolfpack stay successful throughout a global pandemic and now in this ever-changing landscape of college athletics.”
“The McMurrays' generosity has been truly impactful across our campus,” said Chancellor Randy Woodson. “They have dedicated their time, insight and support to helping NC State grow and achieve new levels of success. We are deeply grateful for their partnership.”
Brian McMurray is a 1986 graduate of NC State’s College of Textiles, earning his degree in textile technology. He is a global leader in the textile industry, owning and operating two North Carolinian textile-based companies and leading the creation of 15 patents.

In 2022, McMurray was named an esteemed recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award in recognition of the ways he’s enriched the university’s history and increased the value of an NC State degree.
He has served on the Wolfpack Club board since 2013 and as president from 2018-23. He and Konni have four children: Patrick, Katherine, Emily, and Mary.
