Marcus Hill
It wasn't the result you wanted, but did you expect to have the performance you did today?
I had my confidence, for sure, coming in and playing like this, but, what I'm saying, I wish it was just a better outcome.
And you obviously had that hard start and then played as well as you did late in the second half, but you were kind of quiet late in the first half and early in the second. Was UNC doing anything specifically?
I feel like it was my teammates getting going, and I was just feeding off them. I feel like I didn't, I didn't come out with a little more.
And then could you just walk me through that last possession where Mike handed you the ball and you dished it back off to him? What was going through your mind there?
Yeah, what I'm saying, it was, if I take it to Mike, it might come off the screen, and he makes his read off that, so it just didn't work the opposite string.
So was it just a play designed for you or Mike, depending on whoever was open?
Looking for a read, Mike looking for a read, that's what it was.
So you've been on this team longer than anyone. You're the most familiar with this rivalry. Just where are your emotions right now?
This being your last game against UNC in Raleigh.
I feel like we played, we played a good game. It came down to the last possession, so is where we are as a team. I feel like we're good for here, let's grow for it.
Breon Pass
What do you think UNC did defensively that led to the poor shooting night overall and from beyond the arc?
I feel like we just gotta hit shots. We got everything we wanted and we just want to hit it tonight.
What was Coach Keatts’ message during halftime to get y'all going early in that second half?
Just keep doing what we're doing, we're playing a good game, we're down six at halftime, so just step it up on the defense more and just do what we're doing.
And then on that last possession, what was the play call that Keech threw up for y'all?
Just a play just to get some movement around the offense, put the balls in my hand, make a play, make a little read, so we got what we wanted. And then we saw the call, so.
I saw Mike dish it off to Marcus and he gave it back to Mike. Was it supposed to be for Marcus for that last shot or just for whoever was open?
It was supposed to be for whoever was open. Just so we can get a bucket. So JT got the ball and then we had the call.
Dontrez Styles
On playing close to home…
My support system is strong, and we're going to continue to be a better team than we've been. So it means a lot just to know that, and I love Kingston, man. It's great to know that.
And how much, how sweet has it been just to have that community, just be part of such a great basketball lineage and be the next guy you're playing, you know, at a high level in the ACC?
Yeah, it means a lot to me, you know what I'm saying? I'm proud of how I made it out, and went to great universities, and I have the opportunity to be the next one in that category. It's a blessing.
