Dontrez Styles
“We were in the games. We just weren’t finishing, so we knew this game was important to us.”
“Winning is a way better feeling. You can have all those numbers, but if you don’t win, it doesn’t matter.”
“Do whatever it takes to win the game.”
Marcus Hill
“It hurt [losing to Texas]. All I want to do is win. It hurt. The points didn’t really matter because we lost. Today, it felt really good. I can go home and be happy.”
“Let’s do this. We do this everyday in practice; we call it the ‘four-minute wars.’”
“I’ve seen [Styles] do this everyday in practice. He works out with me all the time. I knew he was going to be cash [from three].”
Ben Middlebrooks
“We have guys that do things exceptionally well. Dontrez Styles, the last two games, has played amazingly, and it’s the same with Marcus Hill. We have so many guys that do different things. We’re going to be a real problem, and so you’re going to see different guys pop off each night.”
“The things y’all see on the court, you don’t see a guy’s best game every single game, but they do those things every day in practice. Everyone on this team can hoop. .Those guys can really score, and we have a lot of guys who haven’t really done it yet but are going to. I’m really excited to see that.”
“A huge thing for us was rebounding. We really struggled with that in a couple of games. We were able to lock in and get stops, and once we got stops, we’re an incredible defensive team, especially in the half-court. We got the stop, finished the possession with the rebound, and got out in transition, and our guys were able to knock down shots.”
