Jayden Taylor
“They played drop, so we knew there would be a lot of mid-range and shots at the elbow area.”
“We were just trying to be aggressive downhill and trying to get some basket finishes.”
“The first half, we started off really slow. We’ve got to be better. In the second half, we showed what kind of team we are and bounced back.”
“I started being more decisive. Even the one I was trying to throw to Trez, I should’ve ball-faked and bounce-passed to him probably.”
“I like it. I’m just playing my game, taking what the defense gives me, and doing what my team needs.”
Marcus Hill
“You never know who’s going to be hot. Everybody can score out there.”
“Whoever’s open, we try to get it to them. We share the ball and try to get the assist, but whoever’s open, [Kevin Keatts] says to take the shot.”
“I think we just started off slow. Coach got onto us, and we picked it up.”
“He wanted more energy. He felt like we were dead. He told us to have fun.”
Dontrez Styles
“We’ve got to build. We’ve got to stop coming out slow. We’ve got to compete harder than we have.”
“I wouldn’t say [we played down to our opponent]. We just came out a little flat with the energy. Sometimes, the energy isn’t there. We’ve got to create our own energy. Tonight, we didn’t do that at first, but in the second half, it got better.”
“[Taylor] is being aggressive. He’s a great scorer and a great player. He’s going to continue to get better each and every game. He’s going to be big time down the stretch.”
“We’ve got great depth. We can go 10-, 12-deep. They’re going to be a big part of the team. We’ve got a great group of guys.”
Ismael Diouf
“We need to keep playing with energy. I’m going to give 100 percent with the minutes I have.”
“There are different rules, but [one of the biggest differences between college ball and international ball] is how physical they get, and the speed of the game is different.”
“I was excited. I wasn’t too stressed. I knew what I had to do. I just gave 100 percent.”
