Safety DK Kaufman
“It was really just good blocking...really the whole kickoff obviously. If not for a lot of them, there would be a return. Just being aggressive, made it take it out.”
“Just looking at the film, I didn't feel like they were that aggressive on kickoff return. A lot of times, when the ball was kicked off over the returner's head they still wouldn't be inside the 30, so just looking at that, and just trusting my teammates, honestly.”
“In high school, I did (a kickoff that long) in the state championship to get the lead, right after we had lost the lead. I love kickoff return. I always have.”
“Honestly, I don't know how to describe it. Them dudes, I have been working with them dudes, just to see them excited, because it is vice-versa, if they do something I am excited for them, so just to have that energy to get everybody to feed off of each other, it tunes me up when I am on defense and then the offense, now they have got a short field. It is 11-man football, complimentary football.”
“Honestly, we don't get a lot of returns. I have only returned the ball under 10 times, for sure, so it's just when you get the opportunity, trying to capitalize. We wanted it more. Not saying we didn't other games.”
“I think it is natural. I really love football. My biggest goal is to have fun. If you're not having fun it is really not worth it.”
Running Back Jordan Waters
“Really just the mentality. It has been a rough one this year. Just knowing what we are capable of and what we put our bodies through and how hard we work...just finishing the right way.”
“I am still tired. I have got to give it to the O-line. I don't think I was touched to the second level and then that is just what I am capable of.”
“I needed that. Shout out to Coach Thunder and his staff. I needed that honestly to build me back up.”
“He is so consistent. If you are around Hollywood hew makes everyone better. He is going to be a great one for NC State.”
“We want to finish 4-0 the rest of the year and win out. We want to show people what we are capable of and show people what we can do.”
Defensive End Davin Vann
“We kind of just focus on staying resilient. We never let the bad things dictate how we are going we are going to come out and play. We persevere through a lot.”
“It is something that I was focused on in the offseason, being more ball-conscious.”
“I have seen (Bailey) grow a lot. He is starting to talk more and demand respect. I am really excited for what the future has for him.”
