Kamal Bonner: "We're Going to Keep Fighting No Matter What"

NC State linebacker Kamal Bonner met with the media ahead of the Wolfpack's upcoming matchup versus California on Saturday.

"It felt good. I was ready for the moment. I’ve been practicing for it all summer. It wasn't how I expected to get on the field, but God works in mysterious ways.”

“I was able to learn to read a lot of keys in a game. A lot of guys give you a lot of keys where they keep doing the same thing. It’s just being smart in what you're doing.”

“Going to my first start, the boys told me all the time, ‘Just do your job. Don't try to do anybody else’s job. Just do you. You’re a good football player; do your job.’”

"I just try to learn more. I just try to grow and be a better person on and off the field to my teammates. I'm in a bigger role now, so I have to step up and be a bigger person.”

"It should be a cool road trip. I’ve never been out to the west coast, so it should be good. We should have some good weather out there, so we should have a good time.”

“[Cal is] a pretty good football team. I mean, they've got a pretty good run game. [Jaydn Ott’s] a good back. We've just got to stop them early.

“Their O-line’s given up 24 sacks. We talk about getting after the quarterback, but yeah, it's probably going to be one of the bigger weeks.”

“We're holding up pretty well. We're just trying to be a better football team.”

"I see myself playing a little bit coming out that edges. I'm learn to use my hands more."

"I think I just fly around and get around the ball. I just try to tap, get my hands around the ball, tackle the ball when I get a chance, and just get to the ball every time.”
