RELEASE: Noah Rogers Earns Freshman Of The Year Award Watch List Recognition
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – NC State redshirt freshman Noah Rogers has been named to the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club announced Wednesday.
The seventh annual Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award is presented to the outstanding freshman player in college football.
Transferring to NC State from Ohio State in January, he hauled in seven catches for 133 yards and a touchdown in the '24 spring game. As a Buckeye, he saw action four games before redshirting.
In high school, Rogers was ranked as a top-100 national prospect and the No. 1-ranked player in North Carolina as a senior in 2022. He was a Consensus four-star player who held a No. 44 national ranking by 247Sports. He tallied over 3,200 receiving yards and had 37 touchdown receptions over his final two high school seasons.
The Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award has been presented to the College Freshman Player of the Year since 2018 and is named in honor of Shaun Alexander, a former standout at the University of Alabama and the 2005 NFL MVP with the Seattle Seahawks.
The Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award watch list will incorporate a broad spectrum of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) programs and conferences from coast to coast, with 37 candidates recognized. A total of 8 schools are represented with multiple candidates.
