NC State running back Jayden “Duke” Scott met with the media to discuss his first fall camp, the start of the season, and much more.

First fall camp, how's it going for you?
It's going good. It's a little different from high school, of course.

But I feel like the Georgia program, I feel like I got acclimated well enough to where it's not that much of a difference.

I know in high school, you would always tell me, I promise I can catch. I haven't gotten to show it yet. But Coach Doeren just said you've shown that a little bit of fall camp. Have you enjoyed getting to show that part of your game in practice?
Yes, sir. I definitely haven't enjoyed that part of my game. I knew I had it, like I've said.

But it just felt good to let the coaches know I can do it, just because it's not really on my high school tape. So it felt good to be able to prove that.

A lot of veterans in this running back group, Jordan Waters coming in. Kendrick Raphael already has a year under his belt; how much are you leaning on those guys?
I've been leaning towards him a lot. Everything that I might struggle with, even with stuff off the field, I would go and talk to those guys and kind of see them as mentors for me. Even Demarcus Jones II and Jordan Poole, they all helped me a lot. Not necessarily on the field, but even off the field stuff.

Everything's coming hot and fast now, I'd imagine. Is it wearing the NC State, at least the practice jersey, is that becoming normal now? Is it not the newness wore off, I guess?
Yes, sir. It's definitely starting to become normal. I'm starting to get more acclimated, realizing I'm in college. Being an early enrollee, I feel like that helped a lot for me, just acclimating to the process of being a college student and a college athlete. So I'd say it is starting to wear off, and I'm starting to get a lot more comfortable in my skin.

Would you recommend to others the early enrollee route?
Yes, sir. I definitely would. It just gives you a big head start on everything in college.

How much did you feel like your senior year kind of validated your durability, your stamina, being able to carry a team and take them as far as you did?
I feel like it validated a lot, just due to the fact that it proved to me, even to myself, that I can take the workload. I can take a big load and pretty much carry the team on my back and be a captain and lead my team as well. So I feel like it showed me a lot that I can do, even as much as the team did.
