Yep interesting to say the least.

795 OPS is solid but no evidence of power in replacing Pennington's bat is a question

He went 2 for 11.
Not enough ABs to draw much in the way of conclusions.

Agree, the question would be why so few at bats for a team that struggled hitting with power.

Why did AMak struggle his FR year? Why did GP struggle his FR year in D2 ball? Some guys need a year to adjust to the college game. Some guys struggle b/c of injury and illness (Sosa). Some guys just struggle (Cozart).

Very true. And some guys have big FR years then regress in years 2 through 4.

This is where having all the info possible comes into play and a guy like Chris Hart being really good at his job certainly helps.

and other guys just never pan out. A lot of risk to take in this day and age of the portal for a CWS team.

Definitely is an addition that's going to raise questions from fans, and that's only fair. So, Maybe the young man is a player our staff recruited in high school and are familiar with him from that perspective. Could be the staff looks at him as a development prospect for the future, rather than an impact player. As stated above, you trust Coach Hart on this one.
