COMMIT ALERT: 2025 OL Michael Gibbs Picks NC State
NC State just landed a commitment from Wilmington (NC) Hoggard star offensive lineman Michael Gibbs.
Gibbs commited on the morning of June 23rd while on campus for his official visit.
Gibbs describes himself as an athletic offensive lineman who can move in space, explode off the ball, and play with a high football IQ. These traits caught the eye of NC State offensive line coach Garett Tujague, who extended Gibbs’ first power-five offer last November. Gibbs vividly recalls the moment he received that phone call.
“It felt unreal. It was before a game on Friday. I was at lunch. Coach Tujague called. I thought they were just checking in with me and what not, and when he offered me I was ecstatic. It felt really good because it was my first power-five [offer], and I’ve heard from other sources that I was [only] their second offer at offensive line, so that alone was huge to me.”
He picked up 15+ offers during the recruiting process from NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, and Duke among others. He is rated the No. 62 interior offensive lineman in the country by 247 Sports.
