Based on prior discussions of the subject, I'm sure others will disagree, but I kinda think a super is more analogous to making the Ellie 8, despite the number of teams. Making the sweet 16 in basketball takes two wins in three days. Given the double elimination format, it just feels to me like making a super is harder than that.
With regards to our regional, sending SC to us just seems lazy. The committee seemed to be keen to up storylines in other pairings, but didn't do that with respect to us. And yeah, it's pretty crappy how disgustingly transparent it is that having a rep on the committee makes a difference.
