NC State has landed a commitment from Ohio State defensive back transfer Ja'Had Carter.

Carter, who is originally from Henrico (VA), began his college career at Syracuse where in 2020 he started 10 games as a freshman, earning freshman All-American honors.

Over his next two years at Syracuse he started 20 more games, earning honorable mention All-ACC honors in 2022 after totaling 36 tackles, six pass breakups, and three interceptions.

He chose to enter the transfer portal at the end of the 2022 season and was highly coveted, eventually choosing Ohio State over Texas and Florida State.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder played in eight games this year for Ohio State, totaling five tackles.

He is familiar with NC State’s 3-3-5 scheme, playing in a similar system while at Syracuse where he was used as the boundary safety.

Inside Pack Sports will have more shortly from Carter on his decision, so stay tuned!
