NC State linebacker Caden Fordham recently met with the media to discuss spring practice, the upcoming spring game, and much more.

“Anytime we go out there as a defense we don’t want to let anyone score.... personally just go out there and make plays... making a few plays would be my biggest goal out there.”

“We had three of the best linebackers, and even J. Scott was a really good linebacker, too, who helped me come in and learn.”

“I feel like I’ve grown a lot.”

“That dude is a dog. He’s hard to tackle, he’s a big back, and he’s faster than a lot of people think, too, when he gets in a straight-line, so it’s great to have him on my side now and not have to worry about tackling him.”

“Personally I like being in the middle just between the tackles.  I feel like I’m best downhill playing in the run scheme game, but wherever this defense needs me to play I’ll do.”

“I can’t wait. I’m so excited for the offense and what they've brought in. The new guys like Wesley, the receivers we’ve got, our receiver group is stacked. Wesley Grimes has been out there making plays.  Even the younger kids like Noah, he’s stepped up and made some big plays.  I can’t wait.”

“Even the running back room too. We have Duke. Some of the younger backs have shown some really good stuff. I’m really excited for them.”

“I feel like our defense, I like to say we’re the best on the field.”

“They have so many playmakers over the field. You’ve got KC, Dacari, all these receivers, and then when you drop to cover the pass they’ll hit you with the running game with a really good running back.”

“It pushes me to be the best I can be.”

“I love Grayson.  He’s a really level-headed guy, came in and learned the playbook. He’s a great decision maker on the field and takes complete control of the offense, which I love to see. He’s a great communicator throughout the offense as well.”

“When I was born my dad was actually playing in the NFL so I remember going to his games when I was a little kid.”

“It’s amazing. Anytime you see a team you go to succeeding and doing well, it’s awesome... being the underdog a lot, it’s putting us on the map. Those guys and even the girls going out there and making a statement, it’s huge. We love it. We’re behind them all the way.”

“You know how those moments feel. You’ve been in them.”

“I feel like I’m fully prepared for what to come.”

“The young guys, Cannon, Zane, Kelvon, Kamal Bonner... all those dudes have had great springs. They are starting to get a hold of the scheme.... flying around, fast and physical.”

“It’s really inspired me.”
