PREGAME: Torin Dorn Talks Notre Dame
NC State redshirt junior wing Torin Dorn met with the media to talk about the upcoming game against Notre Dame.
How has this week been to rest your body, or would you have preferred to get back out there after the win?
When you're on a roll you always want to continue to have rhtyhm and keep playing, but with the week off we've been able to sure up some things that we needed to sure up... go over some things we've been messing on.
We could fix some things and get healthy, so I think it's been good for us.
What were the specifics of those things to sure up?
I think defensively... boxing out, making sure we're together on our switches... stuff like that. It's just little details.
How quick did the UNC win go away?
We walked into practice Tuesday morning and it was business as usual... on to the next one. We enjoyed it for a little bit, but you have to move on and get past it.
What went wrong in your first matchup in South Bend?
It just got away from us.
We didn't play the way we should have played, missing Kell, missing some guys. We didn't click. This time, we're clicking now so it will be a better game.
How much more does Markell Johnson bring?
He brings a lot with his passing ability and energy. He's a great point guard, and we missed having him on the floor. He's been playing really good.
Anything you can learn from your Clemson win after beating Duke that you can take into this game after beating UNC?
Turning your attention quickly and moving on to the next. You can't live on that high forever, it's always another game, another opportunity, so you have to turn the page and get ready for the next opponent.
Did you take a physical and mental break for a couple of days?
Definitely.
It was very mentally and physically taxing, playing a rivalry game like that, but it was fun.
It's been good for us to get a little rest and get ready to be back on the floor on Saturday.
Have you seen anything from Notre Dame since your game... why have things gone south for them?
I'm not sure.
I've been focused on our games and watching us, but they'll be a hungry team coming in here off six straight losses.
We have to be ready.
