Kevin Keatts: "Early On I Thought We Settled"

NC State head coach Kevin Keatts met with the media after the Wolfpack's road loss at Pittsburgh.

“We needed it. We talked about it each time out, trying to chop away at the lead a little bit... we felt like if we could get the game tighter for them.  I thought [Jayden Taylor] made shots. He did a good job, especially with Horne out.”

“We lost our 17, 18-point scorer, and we needed someone to step up and I thought he played really big down the stretch for us.”

“I thought we started driving the basketball. Early on I thought we settled... we were throwing the ball in the post and get some ball and player movement, got some driving lanes and drove it.”

“A lot of times, teams that get big leads relax a little bit, and I thought Pitt relaxed a little bit and we were able to take advantage of that.”

“I told our team, this will be my seventh going to the ACC Tournament, this is the most parity I’ve seen... I think anybody can beat you.”

“I got to get back to the trainer. I just know he, I don’t know if he turned something, I don’t know what it was but he couldn’t go. We looked at him halftime and he couldn’t go. I have to figure out what’s going on with him. After the game I talked to the team and went straight to radio and here so I haven’t had a conversation to figure out what’s going on.”
