BOX SCORE: No. 12 NC State 75, No. 19 Syracuse 71

“One tenth of a second?  Come on man.  Round up, okay?”

“I’m proud of the way they hung in there. It’s kind of similar to the Georgia Tech game... the kid hit the two free throws. She has a lot more in her than I would. I’d have had a hard time making those two free throws.”

“I’m proud of the way we hung in there and battled.

“I thought Zoe did a really good job when she was on Fair.”

“We played a little junk D there for a little while. We got some good stops out of it until they finally hit another three in the corner and we had to adjust.”

“The crowd makes a big difference. We appreciate the fans being here.”

“Sometimes maybe to a fault I leave them out there too much, but they made plays when we needed to have them.”

“A lot of people stepped up and made plays. I liked the team’s enthusiasm. I know some were probably disappointed in playing time, but I think everybody was excited for the team and you love to see that.”

“I think she did a pretty good job. She blocked a shot there late that was big. She made some big plays for us.”

“We were trying. We were showing big pick on the ball, trying to help and went to a little junk defense to try and keep it out of her hands.  She’s a special player, no doubt.”

“Everybody thought the sky was falling and I get it. I hate losing more than anybody in this building, I promise you.  I got a crick in my neck I can’t get rid of for about ten days or two weeks, but we played four of five games on the road and in the last three weeks we played one game at home. When you go on the road in this league you just survive and maybe steal a game or two.”

“I was hoping to win two out of three against Notre Dame, Carolina, and Duke.  We only got one.  I get it.  I got people coming up to me at lunch, ‘Coach, you going to be able to turn it around?’  What are we now, 24-5?  I don’t really want to turn that around. That’s pretty good.”

“I knew when we got the schedule this was going to be a tough stretch, four out of five in this league.”

“Senior Day, we need to send them out right. We need to take care of business.”

“It’s real simple. If we win Sunday, we finish second.”

“I know we weren’t picked very high in the preseason. I’d rather finish first, I get it, but there are 15 teams in this league now and they are about all really, really good. We don’t love second place here at NC State or in this country, but if we’re a No. 2 seed going into the ACC Tournament, that’s a pretty good deal.”

“Again, we have another game left and it’s an in-state game, and Wake Forest always gives every one of our teams trouble. You have to play.”

“Enjoy it tonight, come back tomorrow and get ready for the last one.”

“That coach over there is probably going to get probably more votes than me.  We were picked eighth, they were picked ninth.  Felisha’s done a great job at Syracuse.  We could see them again. They’ll be all we can handle, I know.”
