PREGAME: Omer Yurtseven Talks UNC
NC State sophomore center Omer Yurtseven met with the media to discuss the upcoming game against North Carolina.
"I feel like it is going to be a good matchup. At the same time, I have respect for [Luke Maye] -- what he has been averaging and all. At the same time, I know what I am capable of. We will just have to play against each other and see what happens."
"I learned about [the rivalry] last year but it has always been a big deal… it is very big in this state and I know that State fans care about this game a lot so we will do everything in our power to get it."
"They definitely lost some bigs from last year. They don’t really have the post strength that they had but at the same time they will probably figure out a way, or try to figure out a way, to guard us in the post -- whether it be a double-team or helping from the ball."
"I would say it is confidence and working but at the same time...this year I get more shots basically. I just get more shots up and when you get comfortable and work on it, they start falling."
"The work that we put in during the offseason, the conditioning that we had definitely plays a huge part. The conditioning in practice gets you ready for that last 10-to-15 minute segment."
