D.J. Burns
“I think we played really hard and made the best effort possible to get the job done.”
“Our defense. I think we turned it on early and we kept the pressure throughout the game for the most part until right at the end.”
“Coach kept giving me the ball and putting me in the right positions so i tried to take full advantage. I think I did a pretty good job of that.”
“It was awesome. It gives us a little bit of life when those guys who have had success at this level and playing for this school, with the history behind it, it gives us a little extra edge when we come out and play. We like it when they are.”
“I wouldn’t necessarily say pressure, but you don’t want to disappoint your big brother”
“Right now we’re trying to win as many games as we can, stack them all together, and see where we end up. We definitely don’t take it as something that’s light, but we try not to focus on it and focus on us.”
D.J. Horne
“[Burns’ success] makes it a lot easier, I don’t have to put that much pressure on myself to score the ball and we did our job defensively today so it wasn’t like we were climbing up from an uphill battle.”
“I think, honestly coming into the game, they were really trying to emphasize on me, so it definitely opened up everything as far as my teammates and I think it reflected in the stat sheet.”
“Just trying to get back to our defensive identity and just taking it one game at a time, we can’t really worry about anybody else but us and we know that with the games we have left, there are great opportunities for our resume and getting us into March.”
Jayden Taylor
“I think it was good, just for guys to see the ball going in and just gain some confidence going into the end of the season, like, it's just good to everybody, just kind of get a good game under their belt, good win, good confidence, everybody play well, just going the rest of the season.”
“Defense was a big emphasis today. Obviously, we weren't proud of how we defended Syracuse, and that kind of just gave us a little edge.”
“Yeah, for sure. They came to our practice yesterday, so yeah, that was definitely extra motivation. It was fun, just hearing their stories and like how they talk so highly of NC State’s name and the pride they take, it was great.”
“[It gave us] a lot of confidence. I mean, you see today when everybody plays when we're on the same page, good things happen. So I find this is just a big confidence boost for us going towards the end of the year.”
