D.J. Burns

“I don’t remember.”

“For sure. Every time, I hope they do that.”

“It feels amazing to have the whole organization behind me for sure.”

“We shot 28 percent. We couldn’t throw a rock in the ocean. For us to pull this out, it’s great that we had our focus on defense.”

“Every ACC win is a great one. We pulled it out. It means a lot to us. We’re going to go back to the drawing board and get ready for Saturday.”

“Shoutout to my guys: they had every opportunity to quit. We were down literally the entire game. They had every opportunity to give up, but we didn’t. That shows a lot of resilience.”

“Not once. We gave each other constructive criticism, but there wasn’t any bickering between us.”

“It’s a home one. Our team is ready.”

“That’s the best feeling in the world. We go out there and compete every day in practice, and we go hard at each other. When we can get to take it out on another team and win, it’s the best feeling in the world.”

“That’s how we work. We go after each other everyday. We just fall back on our training when we’re in the moment. We were ready for it.”

“We smelled blood. They weren’t ready for our pressure. The way we were playing defense, we saw it in their faces. They were shaking. We knew, if we kept going, they were going to give us the game, and they did.”

“Everybody knew he was going to get it. It’s unreal, honestly. I see it everyday in practice. You guys probably see it and just say, ‘Wow!’ I knew he was going to score. He’s D.J. Burns. You can’t really guard him. Even if you double him, he can pass or dribble. He’s a hell of a player.”

“I would say it was just a bad shooting day. Coach [Kevin] Keatts gives us the confidence to shoot those shots. Everybody knows he’s going to let us play. We’re going to make them next time, and even if we don’t, we’re just going to do what we did today: rely on our defense.”

“That’s our best offense. When we get stops, we can run, and when we run, nobody can stop us.”

“It’s crucial. We take everything one by one. No matter what team it is, we’re give our all. These next two games are huge for us."
