“When thinking about leaving to go to the NFL, some things that went into my decision making process was my grade and potential to get drafted. It wasn’t where I wanted it to be and I decided to come back another year and being able to develop my body, character, and leadership will hopefully boost my draft stock.”
“I feel like we are a program in a spot where we’re trying to get over that hill, and I think with the right pieces I feel like next year could be our year.”
“At the end of this year we lost a lot of pieces, even if they weren’t guys contributing and playing, they were still pieces to the puzzle... those are potential pieces we need and trying to make those pieces fit will be a big part of next season’s success.”
“I do have a great relationship with coach Doeren. He’s a great guy and I know he has my best interests at heart. I know I can trust him wholeheartedly to do whatever is best for me and my team. I hope he feels the same way.”
“Coach Gibby, that’s my dawg. That’s my people. I didn’t really like him when I first got here, but that was because I was young and immature. Coach Gibson’s coaching style isn’t for everybody, but it grew on me, and he grew on me.”
“I love coach Wiles. He’s funny. He’s never negative, and that’s always a big thing. He’s always laughing with a smile on his face... I love coach Wiles, I love all of them.”
“Savage Wolves has been great overall.”
“Starting at NC State and ending at NC State is a huge honor, especially with what’s going on in the portal now... being able to start my college career in my hometown and end it in my hometown is a huge honor.”
“Some goals I have for 2024... my first would be to develop my leadership more. Stepping into No. 1 kind of showed me the ropes and playing alongside Payton as my main guy showed me what it means to be a leader... I also want to get my sack production up and working on my pass-rush will be a big part of my offseason... my final goal would be to be the best defensive lineman in the ACC.”
“The team goals for 2024... it all starts with winning the ACC. Going to Charlotte and winning the ACC, but next year will be a 12-team playoff. We really want to go for that natty... go for it all.”
