COMMIT ALERT: Maryland Transfer Corner Corey Coley Jr. Headed To NC State
NC State just landed a commitment from Maryland transfer cornerback Corey Coley Jr.
Coley made an official visit to NC State this past weekend and he said the trip was everything he expected it to be.
“Everything at NC State went well. It was exactly what I thought it would be. After meeting with the coaches during the recruiting process, it was everything they said it would be.
“It was super family oriented which was the main thing I was focusing on- a place that was home. Essentially that’s what NC State felt like when I took my visit so I pulled the trigger on it.”
Former Maryland teammate Tamarcus Colley accompanied Coley on the visit with Cooley giving a little bit of prior knowledge of what to expect from the Wolfpack.
“We talked a little bit about NC State but we didn’t get into it too much because he knew they were recruiting me and he just let everything play out.”
An experienced defender, Coley has played in 33 games for Maryland, making six starts including two this season versus Ohio State and Illinois.
The 6-foot-2, 187-pounder will have one year of eligibility remaining and should be able to provide solid depth at corner for the Wolfpack. He will arrive in Raleigh in January.
