Wes Moore: "They Did A Great Job"
NC State head coach Wes Moore answered questions from the Wolfpack's radio crew following the win over Cincinnati in the 2023 Paradise Jam.

“First of all, impressed with the way they came out ready to play. Again, there are a lot of distractions over here. This place is beautiful with all the scenery and then me in my Speedo, it’s hard to stay focused.”
“They did a great job coming out ready to play both days. I told them, we had the appetizer and the salad, and now tomorrow we have the meat and potatoes. We have to play really well against a great Colorado team.”
“It’s good. We had a couple go over 20 minutes or so, a few of them. Trying to keep them in the 20-minute range because we did have a comfortable game. Hopefully that will help us tomorrow.”
“Yesterday I said River Baldwin may have played her best game, and this was right up there with one of the best games I’ve seen Madison play. Early in the game we were having trouble containing Williams, and we put Madison on her. I think Williams had 13 points at halftime and ended up with 15.”
“Great game for Madison.”
“Again, don’t get me wrong, they are still making mistakes but for a freshman I use this a lot, it’s them taking a sip of water out of a firehose. You’re getting blown away with our system and information and I know it’s hard on them, probably slows their feet down a little bit because they are just thinking so much.”
“I will say this, this year I have been able to just let them play more. It’s kind of nice to not have to call something. They come down, they force tempo, they move the ball, they attack, they make the extra pass. When you’re doing that we don’t have to call a play, you just play ball. It’s been nice... hopefully we can keep that trend.”
“They’ve got veterans who have played together a lot and know what they are doing. The point guard makes them go and their post player is really good inside... they have kids around her who can shoot the heck out of it. It’s a tough matchup and we have to play really, really well. We are capable of doing that, but we have to go out and do it.”
“Now we switch gears. We’ll probably have a walk through... the other thing is though by playing the first game we can get on the court with an hour before the game so we can do our walk through at the hotel and then get over here and get a lot of shots up.”
“It’s going to be fun. It’s a big challenge, but you can’t steal second base with your foot on first... that’s first you Elliott Avent if you’re out there listening. Let those guys run!”
