Dylan McMahon: "They Are A Great Defense"

NC State center Dylan McMahon met with the media to discuss Saturday’s matchup against rival North Carolina.

“It’s a great rivalry.  It is what it is.   It’s the longest one in the ACC and definitely growing up in a home of Florida State and Florida with my brothers, it’s very similar to North Carolina State and North Carolina.”

“It’s no secret we don’t like each other, and it’s a game everybody looks forward to every year.”

“They are a great defense.  They run a four-down defense most of the time. They have big defensive linemen with fast linebackers over the top, running around and filling the holes.   That’s what we expect on Saturday. They are a great defense.  It’s going to be a good challenge.”

“We changed up a few things a few weeks ago and we’re finally keeping it the same for a little while.  The first five weeks we were going back and forth with guys, people getting injured, like myself.”

“Really everything is clicking... it’s in a good spot.”

“I don’t know if you need too much of a reminder... it’s UNC. We don’t like them, they don’t like us.  Obviously we can use that as a reminder they’ll have a ton of animosity coming into our stadium after what we did in their stadium last year.  Knowing that, knowing how hard  they are going to play because of that.  It has to be our fuel right there... not let them do the same thing to us.”

“Clemson ran a lot on them, but look at what they did to South Carolina earlier in the year... they are a great defense, it doesn’t change that they got rushed on last week.”
