Madison Hayes on Wes Moore: "He Has Confidence In Us"

NC State guard Madison Hayes met with the media at the 2023 ACC Media Tipoff.

“i’m just making sure I’m a three-level scorer this year.  I know I was a lockdown defender last year. I’m pretty good on my three-point shot so I’m trying to piece everything together to help my team.”

“Hopefully my teammates have confidence in me, which I think they do. I’m a senior and I’m proud to be a leader on my team.”

“I’m making sure we’re getting to our goals of an ACC championship and honestly get to a national championship. That’s what our goal is.”

“I feel like it was very inconsistent.  Now that everybody has the same goals and we all want to win, not saying we didn’t want to win last year, but it was everybody was here... everybody was off.  I feel like this year we have more of a chemistry and everyone wants the same team. I think that’s good for our team this year.”

“We have five freshmen so it’s exciting to get to know younger... we didn’t have any freshmen last year... this year there will be some fresh legs. Hopefully they are ready.”

“We talk about the ACC championship a lot because we won back-to-back-to-back... we talk about how big of a deal that is to coach Moore and us as a team.”

“[Winning a title] is very surreal... it was surreal supporting my teammates and seeing them play really well.”

“Coach Moore knows the caliber of what we can be in the future and he has confidence in us.”

“It’s been great. Ever since my sophomore year it’s been really, really good.. my senior year is here and I’m ready to rock and roll.”
