“It’s pretty cool. I don’t put too much into awards and all that... but it’s cool. Credit to coach Gibson and all the other guys around me. They are playing their tails off. He’s one of the best coaches in the nation and I always say it’s a credit to those guys as well.”

“It’s definitely the best d-line I’ve ever played with in my life... the six guys that we have up there, especially Davin, Savion, and CJ, they are unlike any d-line I’ve played with.  They have the highest  motor I’ve seen on d-linemen. It’s pretty easy to make plays behind guys like that.”

“We have to work on running play-action and getting our eyes right. Making those plays are exciting, but it shouldn’t have been there. We should have had someone on that so we have to keep working on our eyes and continue to learn the defense.”

“We brought out a lot of energy. Coach Doeren does a great job of learning from the game but not dwelling on the game... we were flying around [in practice].  It’s on to a new team and a new week now.”

“No matter what happens over there we have to do our job. If they don’t score, they don’t win. That’s the mentality we have and that’s the mentality coach Gibson instills in us. No matter what happens on the offensive side of the ball we have to do our job and play 11-man football every play.”

“MJ has been great all season. When Brennan came in and won that spot, he was great, he was an awesome teammate. Likewise with Brennan. Now that MJ is in that spot, he’s been an awesome model for him and an awesome person to be behind.”

“I think MJ has handled it really well. He’s not a flashy guy... he keeps his head down and working.”

“Marshall has one of the best running backs in the nation, if not the best. He can run, he’s a power runner, he’s so patient in the backfield. Their o-line and scheme is really good.”

“This game is super important... you’d like to have a win going into ACC ball, have some momentum so when we get into back-to-back ACC games we have a rhythm.”
