COMMIT ALERT: WR Christian Zachary Flips To the Pack
NC State just landed their 20th commitment for the class of 2024 – and fourth wide receiver -- as Saint Matthews (SC) Calhoun County WR Christian Zachary announced that he has flipped from Virginia to NC State.
Zachary landed an offer from NC State back in June and was able to make an official visit to Raleigh this past weekend for the Louisville game. In addition to Virginia and NC State, Zachary also held offers from East Carolina, Cincinnati, Old Dominion, Duke, App State, and Charlotte.
Zachary talked with Inside Sports about the reasons behind his decision.
“Coach Doeren laid it out for me exactly what he wants from me, exactly what is expected from me. Him saying that I could come in right away and make a big impact on the team. It made me feel good about going there, because that’s exactly what I’m looking for as far as going somewhere as a true freshman and making a big statement. Especially on a big stage like NC State and the ACC.
“On top of that, the fans and the atmosphere, it was amazing. I loved every bit of it. All the fans were yelling at me. I’ve been to a couple college games and it was nothing like that.”
Through three games Zachary had totaled 13 catches for 306 yards (102 yards per game) and four touchdowns. He is a consensus three-star prospect and rated as high as the No. 103 wide receiver in the nation by 247.
