NC State RB Delbert Mimms: "We Have A Lot Of Playmakers"

NC State running back Delbert Mimms met with the media as the Wolfpack prepares for its Friday night matchup versus Louisville.

Thoughts on potentially being in a shootout with Louisville...
We have a lot of playmakers. I think we have a lot of playmakers who can make plays and showcase their skills. If it’s a shootout then it’s a shootout, and we’ll go back and forth like we would with any other team.

How far do you feel the offense has come along?
I feel like we’ve expanded more and more each week. Every week we see what we have to fix and what we have problems with and we just go in the next day, fix it, and attack it every time.

How do you feel?
I feel great. I’m healthy, ready to go. I’m just ready for this game.

What are you hoping to improve with your performance?
I want to get longer runs. I know being a short-yardage back I can do those types of things and have advantages in those areas, but I want to be able to go in on first down and get a 30, 20-yard gain and help my team out in that sort of way.

What will it take to get there?
It won’t take much. I have to find me a seam and explode out.

With Louisville having an explosive explosive do you feel added pressure on the offense?
No, not really. I feel like we have to play complimentary football, and if our defense gives us momentum we have to keep rolling and put points on the board

Thoughts when Sumo left, Houston left, etc...
Honestly when they left it was just, “Let’s go.” I’ve been ready, still ready, I’ll always be ready. When they leave it’s next man up, so I’m ready.
