“If you go back and look at the film and there’s probably not a lot of plays on there where all 11 guys are doing their job.”
“In our defense if one person is not doing their job like you saw today that thing can go for 70.”
“We have to take coaching, take the hard coaching, and get better. This film will definitely help us. They hit us with some big runs, some stuff we don’t normally give up.”
“I think a lot of our problem in the past years you saw 11 people running to the ball, every single play... we just have to get that mentality back... some guys aren’t living up to it. If you’re not ready to come out here and try to make every single play we don’t want you a part of this defense.”
“Make every single play you can.”
“This is a crucial time in our season. It’s a long season, and it hurts. Defense can’t blame offense, offense can’t blame defense.”
“In 2019 when we didn’t have great leaders and people that realized that, it’s what happened to us. We fell apart as a team.”
“We have to move past it. We’re a team. We can’t point fingers. We have to improve.”
“They had an hour to gameplan us. We thought we were making really good adjustments, but you give someone an hour in the middle of a ballgame they’ll have something.”
“I think we came out flat. We didn’t come out how we wanted to and they capitalized on that.”
“Coach Gibson is one of the best adjustment defensive coordinators in the nation... they came out with something we haven’t seen in a while.”
