Thoughts on being a team captain...
I learned I’d be a team captain the other day. I just felt really proud that my teammates had the confidence to choose me as a team captain. It’s an honor, and I won’t let them down.
How would you evalutate the offense so far?
I’d say we’re doing really well. It’s a very fast offense... we’ve learned everything so now we’re learning how to play fast. We’re using everything we’ve been taught so we’re working to play fast.
Thoughts on the Huskies...
They are returning ten starters so it’s going to be an experienced defense. We’re not taking them lightly. We’re playing to win.
Preparing to play on the road...
They are running the same defense... we want to see how it goes.
What do you take to handle the heat in practice?
We’re practicing hard. It’s hot in practice, so when you play in games it’s going to be easier.
Thoughts on skillset...
It’s a very explsoive offense. I bring to the table explosiveness, contact catches, plays down the field, YAC yards.
Thoughts on a leadership role...
I felt it was my duty to do that. The younger guys look up to me as a role model, so I felt it was my job to lead them and teach them what I know. To be a role model on the offense.
How is that group progressing?
It’s progressing really well. We have a lot of talented guys in there. All of them can run and all of them can catch. We all bring a lot to the table. It’s going to be an explosive room.
How does Anae’s offense help you play faster?
Tempo. When we finish a play we line back up and are ready to play... keep the defense on their toes, so we just play really fast.
Is it simpler?
It is a lot simpler, actually. The way we send in plays... it’s a lot different, so we get the plays in a lot faster so we can play faster.
